Terms of service
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the person who runs Harold at harold.pm ("we"), for your use of Harold. Contact: [email protected].
1. Your account
You sign in with Google. You are responsible for what happens under your account and must be at least 18, or old enough to form a contract where you live. If you use Harold for a business, you confirm you can agree to these terms on its behalf.
2. The free trial
New accounts get 7 days of every feature, free, with no card required. When the trial ends, if you have not subscribed, your projects become read-only: you can open and read everything, but you cannot make changes, use Harold's AI features or export until you subscribe.
3. Subscriptions and payment
- Harold costs £8 a month or £72 a year, plus VAT where it applies, charged in advance by our payment provider, Stripe.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- You can cancel any time in Settings → Plan & billing. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for; we do not charge you again.
- If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it. If it still fails, your account becomes read-only until payment succeeds.
- We may change prices. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change affects you, and it takes effect from your next renewal.
4. Refunds and cancellation rights
Because the trial lets you try every feature first, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise or section 8 says so. If you are a consumer in the UK, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of subscribing; by starting to use a paid subscription immediately, you agree that this right ends once the service has been fully provided for that period, and any refund the law requires may be reduced for the time used.
5. Your content
Your projects and notes are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Harold for you — including sending the parts a request needs to our AI providers (see the privacy policy). You are responsible for having the right to put content into Harold.
6. Harold's AI
Harold's plans, answers and suggested changes are generated by AI. They can be wrong. Nothing Harold suggests changes your project until you accept it. Harold does not give legal, financial, tax or professional advice; check anything important with a qualified person before relying on it.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use Harold to break the law, to attack or overload the service, to get around its limits, to access other people's data, or to resell it. We may suspend accounts that do, and will tell you why unless the law stops us.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Harold available but can't promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change or remove features; if a change significantly reduces what a paid subscription gives you, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of the period.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data beyond what we could reasonably foresee, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in that time. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under UK consumer law are not affected.
10. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Danger zone; this permanently removes your data. We may end these terms with 30 days' notice, or immediately for a serious breach.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Consumers may also bring claims in the courts of the part of the UK where they live.
